Image tools — compress, resize, favicon & more

Format conversion turns one file type into another. These pages help when the file type is already fine but the photo is too heavy, the avatar needs a square crop, the site needs a favicon, or a transparent logo turns black as JPG. Each tool has its own steps and FAQs so you can finish the job without guessing.

When to use Image tools

  • Your file is already JPG/PNG, but size, dimensions, or orientation are wrong — no need to start at Format converter.
  • You need a favicon, a cropped avatar, or Base64 for a small embed — each has a dedicated page.
  • iPhone HEIC photos will not open on Windows until you convert them.
  • Previews and comparisons sit on the page so you can judge before download.
  • Pairs with Image Converter: tidy here, then change format if you still need to.

Image tools FAQ

How is this different from Image Converter?
Image Converter focuses on format pairs (PNG→JPG, HEIC→PNG). Image Tools is for processing: compress, resize, crop, favicon, Base64, and similar jobs. Use both when needed.
Image compressor or Compress PNG?
Unsure of the format? Use Image compressor and pick an output. Clearly a PNG that must get smaller? Use Compress PNG (defaults toward WebP). Only JPEG? Use Compress JPG.
Can I batch many files?
Most processing pages handle one image so you can compare previews. For many files of the same format, check the matching converter page for queue support.
Can the result be a site icon?
Yes. Use Favicon generator for a multi-size ICO, or crop square then resize for a PNG icon.
Why does a transparent PNG become black as JPG?
JPG has no transparency. Use Transparent PNG to JPG and pick a white or custom fill first.
